Florida SEDAN
"Saving Lives and Protecting Property through
Amateur Radio Digital Communications."
Statewide Frequency: 145.770 MHz
|
|
Welcome to the Florida SEDAN website. Since its inception in 1986, SEDAN's humanitarian goals have remained the same: to help save lives and protect property.
The SEDAN Network in Florida is
currently made up of nearly 50 nodes covering more than half the counties in the
state. The network is capable of providing connections to the State Warning
Point in Tallahassee from Pensacola Bay to Biscayne Bay. The network is growing
rapidly thanks to the involvement and support of individual System Node
Operators and local emergency communications groups around the state.
Maps showing the locations of the various nodes in the Florida SEDAN network are provided in the "Network Maps" section of the website. These are provided so that users can find the best paths to distant nodes. These will be updated as new nodes are added.
New users might find the "Sedan HowTo" page helpful. Here you will find explanations of the basic commands used on the network.

Message from Thomas Nolan KD4MWO:
I
have had to retire from FLA-SEDAN, after 20+ years of faithful service to a
network I was able to run throughout Fla. I have worked very hard and spent a
lot of money to make the SEDAN work.
I
am disabled and with lack of funds and new health problems, I have needed to
retire. The stress with keeping this network up has led to my decision of
retirement.
I
want to think ALL the sysop's that have helped me throughout the 20 years of
SEDAN that I was involved with.
Barry N2DB, will now keep the FLA-SEDAN up, and I hope everyone will support him
as you have supported me. Please send him all e-mails concerning FLA-SEDAN, as
I will no longer have it online.
